Frequently Asked Questions
Questions people ask before they start.
Say It Last helps you organize practical guidance, choose a Trusted Contact, and control when that information can be released.
The simplest answer: clarity.
Say It Last is built for the moment when people might otherwise say, “I wish I would have known.” The app helps you prepare those details before they are needed.
What is Say It Last?
Say It Last is a subscription mobile app that helps you organize important guidance for the people you trust. It can include contacts, instructions, pet care, account notes, final wishes, and personal messages.
Who is it for?
It is for anyone who wants the people they love to have a clearer place to start if they can no longer speak for themselves.
What is a Trusted Contact?
A Trusted Contact is the person you choose to receive your guidance if your Say It Last trigger is activated. This should be someone responsible, reachable, and capable of taking practical next steps.
What is the Toggle?
The Toggle helps control when Say It Last checks in, when reminders begin, and when access may be released to your Trusted Contact.
The big three questions
What do I store?
Store the details your people may need: who to call, where documents are located, what to do about pets, what bills or accounts may need attention, and what wishes you want clearly understood.
When is it released?
Your guidance is not released just because it exists. The Toggle and timing process control when your Trusted Contact may be able to unlock the report.
What do they receive?
Your Trusted Contact receives a clear Vault Report with the guidance you prepared. The goal is to reduce confusion and give them a place to start.
More answers
Is Say It Last a will or legal document?
No. Say It Last is not a will, trust, power of attorney, advance directive, or legal document. It does not replace legal planning or estate documents.
It is a support tool for organizing practical guidance, personal wishes, and information your Trusted Contact may need.
Can I include final wishes?
Yes. You can record wishes such as burial, cremation, memorial preferences, obituary notes, personal messages, and where you would want ashes placed or who should decide.
Can I include pet care instructions?
Yes. Pet care is one of the details people may not know during a stressful time. You can include veterinarian contact information, feeding routines, medications, walking schedules, and who should care for the pet.
What happens if I am safe?
If you are safe and continue confirming as expected, your information stays private. Your Trusted Contact does not receive the Vault Report because there is no reason to release it.
What happens if check-ins are missed?
Say It Last follows the timing you selected. The reminder process gives you time to confirm you are safe before your trigger is activated.
What happens if the trigger activates?
If the trigger is activated, your Trusted Contact can securely unlock the guidance you prepared. This may include contacts, documents, pets, accounts, wishes, and personal notes.
Can I update my information later?
Yes. Say It Last works best when your information stays current. You can update your notes, contacts, Trusted Contact details, pet care instructions, and wishes as life changes.
What if I lose my phone or change phones?
Say It Last is designed to protect your private information, so restoring access has to be handled carefully. If you lose your phone, replace your phone, or reinstall the app, use the in-app recovery steps to help restore access to your account and encrypted vault.
Before changing phones, make sure your account email is current and follow any recovery instructions shown inside the app. If you are unsure, contact Say It Last before deleting the app from your old phone.
Is my information private?
Say It Last is designed around privacy, security, and user control. The goal is to keep your information protected while you are safe and release it only when your Trusted Contact may need it.
Does Say It Last use my vault content for advertising?
No. Say It Last is not built to mine your private vault content for advertising or unrelated marketing use.
Do I need to finish everything at once?
No. Start with the basics. Add your Trusted Contact, set your Toggle, and record the first details that matter most. You can build and improve your vault over time.
Should my Trusted Contact know I chose them?
Yes. It is usually wise to tell the person you chose, so they understand they may receive instructions later and know the message is legitimate.
Is Say It Last for emergencies?
Say It Last is not an emergency service and does not replace calling 911, medical providers, local authorities, or other urgent help.
What Say It Last is not
Say It Last is not legal, financial, medical, funeral, or professional advice. It is not a substitute for formal estate planning, emergency services, or professional guidance. It is a place to organize the information you choose to leave for the people you trust.
