Frequently Asked Questions
Learn how Say It Last works, how the toggle protects your privacy, and how you can securely build a digital legacy.
What is Say It Last?
Say It Last is a private, secure legacy planning app designed to help you organize meaningful information, final wishes, and practical instructions — all stored until the moment you choose to share. Think of it as your digital envelope for the moments that matter most.
Is Say It Last a will or legal document?
No. Say It Last is not a will and does not replace legal planning or estate documents. It’s a support tool to guide loved ones through logistical, emotional, and digital tasks — like accessing accounts, following instructions, or preserving memories. Always pair it with formal legal advice for binding documents.
What can I store in the app?
You can log (and update anytime):
- Account logins, passwords, and essential contacts
- Instructions (e.g. “cancel membership,” “where the spare key is”)
- Messages, notes, and memories for those you care about
- Details about subscriptions, pet care, utilities, and more
All your entries are protected with strong encryption and secure storage.
Who is my Trusted Contact?
Your Trusted Contact is the person you appoint to receive your information when your toggle activates. It could be a close friend, partner, child, or legal advisor — someone you trust to act on your behalf when the time comes.
What is the toggle feature?
The toggle is our patent-pending switch that sets Say It Last apart. When you turn it ON, your Trusted Contact is notified and gains access to your chosen entries. You control everything: who sees what, and when.
If I never toggle, what happens?
If you never activate the toggle, your Trusted Contact will never gain access. That design protects your privacy — nothing is released unless you flip the switch. Say It Last does not automatically release your data in the event of death.
What if I toggle by mistake? Can I reverse it?
Yes. If you activate your toggle accidentally or change your mind, you can revoke access — as long as you still have control of your account. You remain the ultimate authority on what happens and when.
Is my data secure with Say It Last?
Absolutely. Say It Last is built with a privacy-first design. Your stored information is protected with strong encryption and secure storage. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data. Only your Trusted Contact can see what you’ve chosen — and only when you say the time is right.
Do I need legal documents or a death certificate for someone to access my data?
No. Say It Last doesn’t rely on courts or wills to grant access. However, once your Trusted Contact has your information, they might need a death certificate or legal documents to open banking, insurance, or estate accounts — depending on the policies of those institutions.
Can I update my entries later?
Yes. Legacy planning is never “done.” You can add, edit, or remove information at any time. Over time, your plan evolves — and Say It Last makes that process simple.
